IAAO-LA in Louisville, Kentucky, for the 75th International Conference on Assessment Administration

IAAO-LA sent a small contingent of people to Louisville to attend the IAAO International Conference on Assessment Administration. The IAAO is celebrating its 75th Anniversary, and each chapter was invited to create a display for the 75th Anniversary Walk of Fame. IAAO-LA participated in the Walk of Fame Ceremony and put together a display that reflected not only on the history of the Los Angeles Chapter, but also on the many attractions and unique assessments that can be found in the County of Los Angeles. Although we didn't win the "Best Display" contest, we're still proud of all that IAAO-LA offers to its members and the assessment community.

 

 

 

Sad News From IAAO Headquarters

Anne Winter, IAAO Membership Director, passed away on October 22, 2009, leaving behind a family with two young children. In addition to working with IAAO, Anne was well known in the Kansas City alternative music scene as the owner of an independent record store as well as being an advocate for free speech and anti-censorship. Anne will be missed by colleagues, friends, and family alike. Silent Auction a Smashing Success!

During the IAAO-LA Fall Seminar at Swiss Park in Whittier, the chapter held its annual Charity Silent Auction to benefit the American Red Cross. There were many fabulous items to choose from this year, and the bidding was fast and furious. Thanks to your Auction purchases and donations, IAAO-LA was able to raise $505.00, a record breaker! Our Executive Board would like to extend our gratitude to you all for making our Auction a success!!

76th International Conference on Assessment Administration.

The IAAO's International Conference will be held in Orlando, Florida, from August 29-September 1, 2010. The host hotel will be the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel. No word yet on what the group rate will be, so in the meantime, check out what Orlando has to offer at their Travel and Visitors' Bureau website.
